But did you know that the dead are the most blessed during this day? For Christmas is known to be one of the biggest days of the year for the release of souls from purgatory to heaven. This season means more than gift giving and family gatherings.

What would you want for Christmas if you were in Purgatory? HEAVEN! To see the Face of Jesus gazing on you with love for all eternity!

The suffering souls in Purgatory love, praise and Thank God. They are saved! But there greatest suffering is worse than any pain, illness, or loss on earth. They have seen the face of God! Now they know the goodness of God and want to be with him but are unable to. Each year the church celebrates the Solemnity of Christ the King to acknowledge the Kingship of Jesus Christ. For Jesus Chris is the King of All Creation and the Redeemer of Mankind. He deserves all glory, honor, and praise.

The Feast of Christ the King was established by Pope Pius XI in 1925 as an antidote to secularism, a way of life which leaves God out of man's thinking and living and organizes his life as if God did not exist. The feast is intended to proclaim in a striking and effective manner Christ's royalty over individuals, families, society, governments, and nations.

There is a special plenary indulgence that can be gained for the souls in Purgatory on All Souls Day. A plenary indulgence removes all temporal punishment for sin--and so, in effect, releases a soul from Purgatory. To gain this indulgence, one must visit a church, recite one Our Father and the Creed, receive Communion, and pray one additional Our Father and one Hail Mary for the intentions of the Holy Father. The final requirement is to take part in the Sacrament of Confession, which can be done up to seven days before or afterwards. Since most Catholic parishes offer Confession on Saturday, one can go to Confession on a Saturday, and then fulfill the rest of the requirements on All Souls Day itself.
This is a special day where we ask for their prayers and intercessions. As members of the church, we believe that the saints of God are just as alive as you and I, and are constantly interceding on our behalf. We have a connection with the saints in heaven and this is known as the Communion of Saints.

"We believe in the communion of all the faithful of Christ, those who are pilgrims on earth, the dead who are being purified, and the blessed in heaven, all together forming one Church; and we believe that in this communion, the merciful love of God and his saints is always [attentive] to our prayers."
We celebrate today the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

In Numbers 21:5-9, we find that the people of Israel were afflicted with serpents in the wilderness because of their sin. God instructed Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” The bronze serpent points to the cross of Christ which defeats sin and death and obtains everlasting life for those who believe.

The result of Jesus “being lifted up on the cross” and His rising and exaltation to the Father’s right hand in heaven, is our “new birth in the Spirit” and adoption as sons and daughters of God. God not only redeems us, but He fills us with his own divine life and power that we might share in His glory.

The feast of the Holy Name of Mary therefore follows that of her Birthday, as the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus follows Christmas. The feast originated in Spain and was approved by the Holy See in 1513; Innocent XI extended its observance to the whole Church in 1683 in thanksgiving to our Lady for the victory on September 12, 1683 by John Sobieski, king of Poland, over the Turks, who were besieging Vienna and threatening the West. This day was commemorated in Vienna by creating a new kind of pastry and shaping it in the form of the Turkish half-moon. It was eaten along with coffee which was part of the booty from the Turks.
You have suffered death at the cross for our sins. Oh Holy Cross of Jesus! be my true light. Oh Holy Cross of Jesus! fill my soul with good thoughts. Oh Holy Cross! help me in my salvation. Oh Holy Cross! safeguard me against unholy thoughts and worldly dangers that I may worship the Holy Cross of Jesus of Nazareth crucified. Have pity on me. Oh Holy Cross of Jesus! be my hope. Oh Holy Cross have mercy on me forever and ever. Amen.
In honor of the Precious Blood of Jesus and His fearful Death and Resurrection and His Glorification which leads to everlasting life. May He preserve me from my enemies both visible and invisible forever and ever. Amen.
Lord Almighty, into Your hands I give my soul and my body. Oh Lord Jesus! grant me strength to bear the cross as Yourself. Teach me to bear it with great humility that the Blessed Virgin may fill me with the Holy Spirit.
LAST SECRET OF FATIMA

The Church has given permission to reveal to the people the last part of the message. The Blessed Virgin appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917, this is a proven fact;one of these children was Lucia, (died 2-13-05).

She was a cloistered nun, and lived in a monastery in Portugal. Lucia disclosed the message for the first time; to Pope Pius Xll who, after reading, sealed it and stored it away without making it public. Later Pope John XXIII read it and, in the same manner as his predecessor, he kept it out of the public eye because he knew that once revealed; it would bring desperation and panic to mankind.
She is listed as one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers of mankind among the saints in Heaven; she is the patroness of young women, philosophers, preachers, theologians, wheelwrights, millers, and other workingmen. She was said to have appeared with Our Lady to St. Dominic and to Blessed Reginald of Orleans; the Dominicans adopted her as their special protectress.

This devotion, which the author has called the 'Rosary Novenas to Our Lady,' is of comparatively recent origin. In an apparition of Our Lady of Pompeii, which occurred in 1884 at Naples, in the house of Commander Agrelli, the heavenly Mother deigned to make known the manner in which she desires to be invoked.

For thirteen months Fortuna Agrelli, the daughter of the Commander, had endured dreadful sufferings and torturous cramps; she had been given up by the most celebrated physicians. On February 16, 1884, the afflicted girl and her relatives commenced a novena of Rosaries. The Queen of the Holy Rosary favored her with an apparition on March 3rd. Mary, sitting upon a high throne, surrounded by luminous figures, held the divine Child on her lap, and in her hand a Rosary. The Virgin Mother and the holy Infant were clad in goldembroidered garments. They were accompanied by St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena. The throne was profusely decorated with flowers; the beauty of Our Lady was marvelous.
